Strong Military
The top priority of our government is keeping America safe. I am a lifetime Member of the American Legion, Military Officers Association of America(MOAA), Military Order of World Wars(MOWW), Semper Fi Task Force, and the Marine Corps League.
Illegal Immigration
America was built by legal immigrants. Why now are we choosing to condone illegal immigration in the faces of those who lawfully became naturalized citizens? Illegal immigration threatens the American workforce and is bad for Alabama.
Huntsville Housing Authority
We must do more to protect our families, children, and property values from the silent encroachment of public housing. That's why I am working closely with Representative Mike Ball to provide more restrictions and early notification of intended HHA actions.
PACT
The state of Alabama has a moral and legal obligation to fulfill the Pre-Paid College Tuition
program.
Opposition to Gambling
I am firmly opposed to gambling in our state. The fact is, family entertainment and adult entertainment do not mix. If we expand gambling in our state, we invite more crime, misery, and corruption into our neighborhoods.
College Freshman Residential Housing Policy
Students deserve a choice on whether or not to live on their college campus. That's why I'm sponsoring HB 520 to restore that choice. While living on campus is beneficial to many, it is not the best option for every student/family, especially those trying to save money.
Economic Development
The coming Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) soldiers and their families provide our community with a great opportunity for growth. But we must not lose sight of what makes Huntsville so special. In keeping with this philosophy, infrastructure improvements must be made like upgrading roads, recreational facilities, and schools.
Fiscal Accountability
Your family and business must carefully watch how hard earned money is spent. Similarly, public officials should always remember that they are managing a real person's money. As a steward and watchdog of the taxpayer dollar, I will not support tax increases.
